BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS

The BVI have a rich history, with evidence of human habitation dating back to the 1st century AD. The islands were first settled by the Dutch in the 16th century, and later came under British control. Today, the BVI are self-governing, with a parliamentary democracy and a governor who represents the British monarch. The BVI are home to a number of protected areas, including the Virgin Islands National Park on the island of St. John, which is part of the United States Virgin Islands. The park covers about half of the island and includes a number of hiking trails, as well as beaches and coral reefs. The BVI also have several marine parks, including the Anegada Reef National Park and the Jost Van Dyke Marine Park, which protect the region's marine life and ecosystems.

Yachting

The British Virgin Islands (BVI) are a British Overseas Territory located in the Caribbean. The main islands are Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada, and Jost Van Dyke, and there are also many smaller islands and cays. The islands are known for their beautiful beaches, clear blue waters, and sailing opportunities.  The BVI are also a popular destination for scuba diving, with numerous dive sites featuring coral reefs and shipwrecks.

Weather

The BVI have a subtropical climate, with warm weather year-round. The British Virgin Islands bask in a tropical maritime climate. Rainfall is moderately low for tropical islands and the year can be split into a wet and a dry season according to rainfall levels. There is little seasonal variation in temperature. Due to their position, the islands are susceptible to hurricanes. The hurricane season lasts from June till November though the area is at greatest risk in October and November.
